L&P Back Yard Cricket

After we had spent a couple of years re-building the story and brand of L&P a much loved carbonated lemon drink with a little Kiwi magic it was time to do something new but old. To build on the success (huge uplift in sales) "You were there, since ages ago" campaign we tapped further into the Kiwi summer past time of Back Yard Cricket.

Mowing a strip in the grass, inviting the neighbours to an epic battle, big wicket claims and 'unique' bowling styles. Part of the heritage and heyday of cricket and BYC is the scene in the 80's. So we based the campaign look, language and overall style on retro cricket player cards. A tongue in cheek look at lunch-time legends of Kiwi backyards. Part of the roll out was to do the packaging and copy for two new flavours. Something a bit new for L&P at the time.
